The one acts upon the other and every abiding change in the life of man is the result of these mutual reactions. (Letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi, 17 February 1933, Compilation on Social and Economic Development, p. 4)

Webinar: “Meeting Statutory and Executive Order Requirements”

When: Tuesday, February 16

Time: 12:00 p.m. Central (10:00 a.m. Pacific / 11:00 a.m. Mountain / 1:00 p.m. Eastern)

Presenter: Jonathan M. Estes, Director of Sustainability and Analytics, Facilities Solutions Group, LLC

Summary: The recently released Executive Order 13514, inclusive other statues require agencies to invest in energy conservation projects, reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and introduce renewable energy initiatives. Agencies will need to demonstrate how they plan to overcome challenges to fulfilling these requirements. One of these challenges includes utilizing a standardized reporting infrastructure. Federal facilities have been developing and deploying a variety of technology solutions for managing their facilities, with little or no guidance to meet the current and upcoming compliance requirements in energy-efficiency and GHG emissions. In some cases, agencies may have several systems operating throughout the agency that may or may not be compatible. The increasing number of metrics and complexity of calculations and reporting requires an assessment of facilities management technology. This presentation explores how standardization of infrastructure can help to ensure ease and cost-efficiency in reporting, as well as optimization of the technology investment.

Objectives:

How agencies plan to overcome challenges to reduce GHG emissions

How standardization of infrastructure can help to ensure ease and cost-efficiency in reporting.

How standardization of infrastructure can help to ensure optimization of the technology investment.
